Bible Bee, Life

//Putting Trust into Practice//

*Originally published in June of 2020 for my Bible Bee friends*

Most of us have heard the news by now–only Bible Bee semi-finalists get to go to Texas. The rest of us–we’re stuck doing everything else online.
How disappointing for a first year Bible Bee-er like me.
While it’s our natural tendency to cry, whine, and complain, we need to remember what we’ve been studying. TRUST. Okay….so not exactly what you want to hear at this time???
Yeah, it’s not what I wanted to hear either. I really wanted to do well and make the top 120 in my division. I really wanted to meet new friends at the competition. I really….. Wait a second…….our priority should not be winning first place or _______________. Our priority should be to know and learn more about Him, not about winning first place or ______________. Since our priority is to know more about Him, we can put trust into practice, instead of sadness, pout-y-ness, etc.
We are to trust God, no matter what. Joseph trusted God, and while he probably though this is a bit crazy at times, we can now read his story and see He worked all things out for good (Rom. 8:28). Isaiah 55:8-9 (one of the CRs!) says, For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
God’s plans are PERFECT. While we may not see the whole idea, He sees the whole idea, and who knows, He might be working out something greater. We are living by faith (Hebrews 11:8-16, another CR!), but He has the whole script wrote out.
And we TRUST Him!
And you know what? Hopefully this will motivate you to keep studying and grow closer to Him. And remember, Bible Bee is not about the competition or the prizes or ___________, it’s about drawing closer to Him and understanding HIS WORD better.
Your sister in Christ,

Lilly
